Their generous donation of time and effort to retain the character of Newtown Borough, preserve our heritage, and support our government are highly valued and appreciated by Borough Council.
Borough Council is seeking volunteers for the following positions:
(6 needed) Beautification & Revitalization, to preserve & revitalize Newtown Borough with specific focus on the downtown business area
(3 needed) Enviromental Advisory Council, to advise and assist local government agencies concerning the protection, preservation & management of natural resources within Newtown Borough
(3 needed) Shade Tree Commission is authorized to make & enforce regulations relating to the planting, maintenance & removal of trees in the public right of way.
One (1) Borough Resident for the Newtown Area Joint Cable TV Committee which meets monthly on the First Wednesday at 7:30pm in the Meeting Room of the Newtown Fire Association, 14 Liberty Street.
This Committee develops policies and reviews applications for and renewal of telecommunications franchises in relation to the services provided to subscribers, and the use of public and institutional channels
(1) Borough Residents for the Council Rock Area Youth Aid Panel which meets monthly on Third Wednesday in Newtown Township
Committee members counsel and supervise individual area youth in performing community service.

Committees of Council regularly meet in Council Chambers, 23 North State Street, Newtown, unless otherwise advertised, with the exception of the Joint Downtown Newtown Corporation which meets in the meeting room of the Newtown Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority, 15 South Congress Street on the third Thursday at 4:30pm.
