The Newtown Rotary Club has adopted the Newtown Theatre restoration project as its three
year community service program.
The theatre committee has embarked on a program to raise $250,000 over the next three years particularly for renovations which would include a total restoration of the inside of the theatre back to its 1938 vintage state, plus landscaping, air conditioning and a new state of the art sound system. The Newtown Theatre Rehabilitation Committee sold bricks to help fund this project, and is currently auctioning off a limited edition print of the Newtown Theatre.
