Wendy Castor Hess

Wendy Castor Hess has limited her practice to immigration, nationality and consular law since 1980. She has extensive experience representing research institutions, universities, multi-national corporations, health care institutions, information technology firms, and large consulting firms (and, importantly, the foreign nationals they seek to employ) in securing appropriate immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. She also has extensive experience representing employers, both large and small, in employer sanctions matters, as well as representing individuals in all immigration litigation matters.

After graduating in 1980 from George Washington University's National Law Center, Wendy worked with the Traveler's Aid Society in Chicago where she obtained outstanding immigration-related litigation experience. She then joined the Board of Immigration Appeals in Falls Church, Virginia, as a Staff Attorney, where she acquired valuable appellate immigration-related experience. In 1984 Wendy moved to Philadelphia where she became an associate in an immigration law firm. In 1988 she joined with Jane Goldblum to form Goldblum & Hess, where her practice focuses on securing appropriate working visas for foreign physicians, engineers, computer specialists and other professionals. Since the inception of their firm, Jane and Wendy have made a commitment to practice the finest immigration law possible; and, by throwing away their time sheets, to offer their clients, whether corporate or individuals, the most reasonable legal fees available.

Wendy is a past Chair of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), has served on the AILA National Board, and has served as the Chair of numerous committees for the Philadelphia Chapter of AILA, including the Department of Labor liaison committee, the Immigration liaison committee, the Immigration Court liaison committee, the Pro Bono committee, and on AILA’s National Vermont Service Center liaison committee. Additionally, she is a frequent speaker at AILA conferences. Wendy is fluent in Spanish and is an advisor on immigration issues to the Mexican Consulate in Philadelphia, as well as a weekly columnist for Al Dia newspaper, the largest Spanish language newspaper in the Delaware Valley. She is on the Board of HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) as well as on the Board of Kenneseth Israel.

Wendy, like Jane, is committed to educating the community and our legislators about our immigration laws. On a pro bono basis, Wendy has conducted seminars for ethnic and business associations; has lectured to foreign students and professors at universities and colleges; and, together with Jane, has organized meetings in Washington D.C. between business representatives and our legislators to discuss the practical application of proposed immigration laws.
